Maywood Issues Emergency Alert on Upcoming Medi-Cal Policy Changes for Some Qualified Non-Citizens
According to the City of Maywood's official website, the City has issued an EMERGENCY ALERT with an important notice: upcoming changes to Medi-Cal eligibility and coverage policies for some qualified non-citizens.
The alert was posted in the City's Alert Center on September 3. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) is informing residents that the changes take effect October 1, 2026, and could affect Medi-Cal eligibility or coverage for some individuals. To help residents understand the changes, DPSS is offering free webinars in multiple languages throughout September and October; residents can register at bit.ly/hr1gncweb2026 or by scanning the QR code on the flyer.
DPSS advises residents to keep responding to Medi-Cal renewal notices and providing requested information on time; keeping information current and completing required renewals can help maintain eligible benefits.
