'Stop the Wedding' Carousel Trend Spreads: Photo Dumps Confess Wedding Regrets to Ashe's Track
According to New Engen's October TikTok trends roundup, a photo-carousel format called Stop the Wedding is spreading: users build swipeable albums of wedding photos set to singer Ashe's atmospheric track, writing a wedding regret over each image — from regretting a bridesmaid dress to admitting they nearly called the whole thing off — using self-deprecating humour to process the pressure of a major life event.
The roundup noted that photo carousels are among the formats TikTok has pushed hardest this year, with different completion mechanics from video: viewers must swipe through every photo to reach the final confession, keeping interaction rates high. The format also mirrors the simultaneously trending Patient Zero wedding-day edits to Taylor Swift's song — one format records the joy on video, the other confesses the regrets in stills, and together they own October's wedding-season traffic.
Wedding photographers, dress shops and florists have begun posting professional-perspective versions, warning couples away from the most common regrets and turning the meme into a practical planning checklist.
