帕萨迪纳市揭晓66号公路百年纪念邮票，邮政总局在历史博物馆首发

66号公路在20世纪中叶是美国人向西迁徙与公路旅行的象征，约翰·斯坦贝克在小说中称之为「母亲之路」；州际高速公路建成后，它于1985年正式从国家公路系统中除名，但沿线小镇的汽车旅馆、加油站与霓虹招牌成为美国流行文化中经久不衰的怀旧符号。帕萨迪纳段的科罗拉多大道保留了不少老字号商铺与历史建筑，市政府与商会近年也在沿线增设66号公路主题标识，吸引自驾游客停留消费。为迎接百年纪念，全美多州都在筹备巡游、车展与老车聚会，邮政总局的这枚邮票被视为纪念季的头炮。历史博物馆表示，仪式当天使用的纪念邮戳在限期内仍可到馆加盖，集邮者可留意馆方公告。

Route 66 was officially commissioned on November 11, 1926, running from Chicago to Santa Monica; Pasadena was a key stop on its California stretch, and Colorado Boulevard still carries the character of the "Mother Road." The stamp is part of USPS centennial commemorations, and the event offered a special pictorial postmark that drew stamp collectors and road-trip enthusiasts.
The Pasadena Museum of History holds photographs and artifacts related to Route 66. Organizers said Pasadena was chosen for the unveiling because of the city's close ties to the highway's cultural memory. The stamp is on sale at post offices nationwide and online, with further centennial exhibits and events planned through the year.
Route 66 became a symbol of westward migration and the American road trip in the mid-20th century — John Steinbeck called it the "Mother Road" — and although it was decommissioned in 1985 after the interstates replaced it, its motels, gas stations and neon signs remain enduring pieces of Americana. Pasadena's stretch along Colorado Boulevard keeps many vintage storefronts and historic buildings, and the city and chamber of commerce have added Route 66-themed signage to draw road-trippers into local businesses. States along the route are preparing parades, car shows and vintage rallies for the centennial, and the USPS stamp is being treated as the season's opening shot. The museum said the commemorative postmark used at the ceremony will remain available at the museum for a limited period for collectors who missed the event.
