Federal Disaster Aid Approved for New Hampshire's Carroll County
New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte announced on October 8 that the president has granted her request for a major disaster declaration following severe storms and flooding on June 10-11 that damaged communities in Carroll County. A preliminary damage assessment by FEMA and state and local officials put statewide response costs at about $3.12 million. The declaration allows Carroll County communities to seek federal funding to repair damage in places including the Town of Madison and Edelweiss Village, and state emergency officials will brief eligible communities on how to apply.
