Palme d'Or Winner 'Fjord' Opens in U.S. Theaters as Romania's Oscar Entry
NEON's drama 'Fjord' opened in U.S. theaters on October 9. Directed by Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu and starring Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve, the film won the Palme d'Or at Cannes and has been selected as Romania's entry for Best International Feature at the 99th Academy Awards.
The story follows a devout Romanian family that relocates to a small Norwegian coastal town, where clashes over parenting and cultural values draw in the child protection authorities.
