New York Opens FAFSA, TAP and STEM Applications for 2027–28 Academic Year
New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Oct. 5 that applications for the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and the STEM Incentive Program for the 2027–28 academic year are now open, alongside the federal FAFSA. The governor noted that $226 million in college aid went unclaimed in New York last year and urged eligible students to apply early. The opening coincides with the October–November College Application Action period, when many colleges waive application fees for high school seniors.
