(City and County of Honolulu)、夏威夷县(Hawaiʻi County)和茂宜县(Maui County),对应2026年8月14日至16日的飓风拉拉(Hurricane Lala);另一项覆盖考艾县(Kauaʻi County)和茂宜县,对应2026年9月6日至9日的飓风洛厄尔(Hurricane Lowell)。
Hawaiʻi Approved for 2 Federal Major Disaster Declarations with 75% Federal Cost Share
Hawaiʻi Governor Josh Green announced in Honolulu on October 8, 2026, that the President of the United States has approved two Major Disaster Declarations (MDD) for Hawaiʻi following damaging hurricanes in August and September. Both declarations will provide Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance program funding on a cost-sharing basis, with FEMA covering 75% and the state and local governments covering 25%, to supplement recovery efforts. One declaration covers the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaiʻi County and Maui County following Hurricane Lala from August 14-16, 2026. The other covers Kauaʻi County and Maui County for impacts from Hurricane Lowell from September 6-9, 2026. FEMA Public Assistance covers debris removal, restoration and mitigation of disaster-damaged public facilities and infrastructure, and eligible nonprofit entities, with funding provided as reimbursements. Governor Green said he requested the expedited MDD on September 9 immediately following Hurricane Lowell, and had previously obtained a Presidential Emergency Declaration after Hurricane Lala on August 22, which was granted on August 25. Requests for additional assistance are pending with FEMA. (Source: Office of the Governor, State of Hawaiʻi)
