特朗普敦促阿拉斯加人11月公投废除排序投票制

“我们怎么会蠢到用这个？”特朗普写道，并在同一帖子中背书参议员丹·沙利文和众议员尼克·贝吉奇。废除排序投票的提案将出现在阿拉斯加11月选票上，提前投票10月19日开始。2024年的废除努力以737票之差失败。
阿拉斯加于2020年采用排序投票制，配合无党派前四初选。前众议员玛丽·佩尔托拉——首位当选国会议员的阿拉斯加原住民——2022年在该制度下赢得众议院席位，2024年输给贝吉奇。截至10月8日，DDHQ选举模型给佩尔托拉的州长竞选开出63%的胜率。

Trump Urges Alaskans to Repeal Ranked-Choice Voting in November Referendum
President Donald Trump on Thursday urged Alaskans to vote in November to repeal the state's ranked-choice voting system, posting on Truth Social that the method should be scrapped, Newsmax reported on October 8.
"How stupid are we to do this?" Trump wrote, endorsing Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Nick Begich in the same post. A repeal measure will appear on Alaska's November ballot; early voting begins October 19. A 2024 repeal effort failed by just 737 votes.
Alaska adopted ranked-choice voting with a nonpartisan top-four primary in 2020. Former Rep. Mary Peltola — the first Alaska Native elected to Congress — won the House seat under the system in 2022 before losing it to Begich in 2024. A DDHQ election model gave Peltola a 63% chance of winning the governor's race as of October 8.
The governor's race is a four-way contest: Democrat Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins faces Republicans Dave Bronson, Treg Taylor and Bernadette Wilson, with term-limited Gov. Mike Dunleavy leaving office.
