Oceanside Authorizes $8.666 Million Payment to Unlock Federal Flood Funds, Speeding San Luis Rey River Work
The Oceanside City Council voted 5-0 on October 7 to authorize a partial payment of $8,666,666 to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, allowing the Corps to draw down $26 million in recently appropriated federal funds and accelerate sediment removal and targeted levee work on the San Luis Rey River flood protection project. The project aims to strengthen flood protection for communities along the river.
