Padres Edge Brewers 4-3 to Stay Alive, Force NLDS Game 4
In the other NLDS, the San Diego Padres kept their season alive on October 6 with a 4-3 home win over the Milwaukee Brewers, cutting the series deficit to 2-1 after dropping the first two games. Facing elimination, San Diego played with urgency from the first inning.
Jake Cronenworth's fifth-inning solo home run provided what proved to be the decisive run, and the Padres bullpen held off a late Milwaukee push to protect the one-run lead. Game 4 is scheduled for October 7 in San Diego, with the Brewers still holding the series edge and the Padres fighting to force a winner-take-all Game 5.
