布雷亚：家属称亲人疑因西尼罗病毒去世，呼吁加强灭蚊通报
布雷亚居民丽贝卡·尼尔森·萨拉斯10月6日在市议会上发言表示，她47岁的兄弟9月初出现流感样症状，后发展为脑膜炎与脑炎，在重症监护室11天后去世，疑与西尼罗病毒有关。她呼吁加强社区灭蚊与病媒控制，并实时公布人类、鸟类与蚊子的感染信息。
市府工作人员表示，病媒控制依赖县级数据，市府正努力改善信息获取。
Brea: Family Says Relative Died of Suspected West Nile Complications, Urges Stronger Vector-Control Reporting
Brea resident Rebecca Nelson Salas told the city council on October 6 that her 47-year-old brother developed flu-like symptoms in early September that progressed to meningitis and encephalitis, and that he died after 11 days in intensive care, in a case suspected to be linked to West Nile virus. She urged stronger neighborhood mosquito treatment and vector control, along with real-time reporting of infections in humans, birds and mosquitoes.
City staff said vector control relies on county data and the city is working to improve access to that information.
