UCLA绑架强奸案嫌犯开庭前一天自杀身亡，年仅26岁
被控绑架UCLA女学生并强奸另一名女子的26岁圣莫尼卡男子亚历山大·谢克特（Alexander Schecter），在原定10月6日出庭前一天被发现死亡，洛杉矶县法医确认死因为自杀。
急救人员10月5日傍晚6点左右在圣维森特大道800号街区发现谢克特失去反应，其家人报警称他已没有呼吸，现场宣布死亡。
谢克特原定10月6日在机场法院出庭接受预审，被控多项重罪，包括为实施其他犯罪而绑架、一级住宅抢劫、强奸及两项强迫口交罪。检方指控其犯罪手段极端暴力。
根据洛杉矶县地方检察官办公室文件，2026年3月6日凌晨3点左右，谢克特在送一名UCLA女学生回宿舍途中，在Landfair大道500号街区不让其下车。（综合《纽约邮报》等美方媒体报道）
UCLA Kidnapping, Rape Suspect Dies by Suicide Day Before Court Hearing
Alexander Schecter, the 26-year-old Santa Monica man accused of kidnapping a UCLA student and raping another woman, was found dead on Oct. 5, a day before his scheduled court appearance. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed the cause of death as suicide.
First responders found Schecter unresponsive in the 800 block of San Vicente Boulevard around 6 p.m. Monday after a family member reported he was not breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Schecter had been due in Airport Courthouse on Oct. 6 for a preliminary hearing on severe felony counts including kidnapping to commit another crime, first-degree residential robbery, forcible rape and two counts of forcible oral copulation. Prosecutors alleged extreme violence.
According to the LA County District Attorney's Office, on March 6, 2026, around 3 a.m., Schecter prevented a female UCLA student from exiting his car on the 500 block of Landfair Avenue. (Via U.S. media including the New York Post)
