US stocks hit new records Tuesday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq both closing at all-time highs; Europe rose 0.5%. Ten of eleven S&P sectors advanced — only healthcare fell — led by utilities (+3%) and consumer discretionary (+1.4%).
Software stocks gained 1% to their 2026 high as AI-disruption worries faded. Marvell jumped 6%, Cisco added 4.5%, Nvidia hit an all-time high; Seagate plunged 14%.
