AMD CEO

AMD's Lisa Su in Taipei: AI Chip Demand Outpacing Supply for Years
AMD CEO Lisa Su said Tuesday in Taipei that demand for the company's chips exceeds supply and she expects strong demand to last for years. She is meeting supply-chain partners including Foxconn and TSMC on the trip.
Su said AMD raised output in 2026 but demand still runs ahead, with plans to increase supply substantially in 2027 — "and could still use more." She cited the need for "more advanced wafer capacity" with planning now stretching three to five years out. High-bandwidth memory for AI servers remains tight industry-wide.
She said the $10 billion Taiwan investment announced in May is on track, without detailing further spending, and urged leading AI firms to cooperate on safety, calling the Trump administration's new Super Intelligence Force an important step.
