华为高通达成多年期专利交叉许可，高通首次向华为付费
10月5日，华为与高通宣布达成一项多年期、范围广泛的专利许可协议，覆盖5G、计算、人工智能、网络等多个技术领域的专利组合交叉许可。作为协议的一部分，高通将收购华为在计算、AI、网络等领域的部分美国专利，并首次向华为支付专利费——这标志着双方持续二十多年的专利付费关系发生根本反转。
双方表示协议遵循公平、合理和非歧视（FRAND）原则。专利资产收购部分尚需获得必要的监管批准后完成。
Huawei, Qualcomm Strike Multi-Year Patent Deal; Qualcomm to Pay Huawei for First Time
On Oct. 5, Huawei and Qualcomm announced a multi-year, broad patent licensing agreement covering cross-licensing of patent portfolios across 5G, computing, artificial intelligence and networking. As part of the deal, Qualcomm will acquire some of Huawei's U.S. patents in computing, AI and networking — and pay Huawei patent fees for the first time, a fundamental reversal of the two companies' two-decade-plus payment relationship.
Both sides say the agreement follows fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory (FRAND) principles. The patent-asset acquisition remains subject to regulatory approvals.
