Trump Approves Additional Federal Disaster Aid for West Virginia
West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey announced that President Trump has approved additional federal disaster assistance for the state following this summer's storms and floods. According to EIN Presswire on October 8, West Virginia suffered multiple rounds of severe storms and flooding this summer, badly damaging roads, bridges and homes. The added aid will fund public facility repairs, temporary housing for affected families and infrastructure rebuilding. Morrisey said the state is working closely with FEMA to get funds disbursed quickly. West Virginia's mountainous terrain makes it prone to flash flooding, and disaster prevention remains a long-term challenge for the state.
