Pittsburgh and Philadelphia Both Named 2026 IFEA World Festival & Event Cities
The International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) on October 5 named its 2026 World Festival & Event Cities, with both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania making the list. According to USA Today, the award honors cities excelling at festivals and major events, with only a select few cities worldwide recognized each year. Pittsburgh is known for signature events like the Three Rivers Arts Festival and the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival, while Philadelphia earned recognition for long-running celebrations such as the Philadelphia Flower Show and Independence Day festivities. Tourism officials in both cities said the honor will raise Pennsylvania's profile in the global meetings and tourism market and boost hotels, restaurants and transportation.
