Nevada Gaming Control Board Takes Up Rewritten Technical Standards
The Nevada Gaming Control Board met on October 7 to consider rewritten technical standards for gaming devices. According to gaming industry media around October 8, the new standards update requirements for software testing, random number generators and cybersecurity for slot machines, electronic table games and other equipment to keep pace with converging online and land-based formats. Nevada is the global benchmark for gaming regulation, and its technical standards are widely copied by other jurisdictions. The board said the revision followed multiple rounds of public comment, aiming to close technical loopholes, protect consumers and leave room for innovation. The board will decide on adoption after industry feedback, with the rulemaking expected to wrap up by year-end.
