北卡罗来纳州罗利市议会10月6日投票通过一项为期六个月的数据中心建设暂停令。据商业地产媒体Bisnow报道，暂停期间市政府将研究数据中心对电力供应、水资源与社区影响的评估标准，再决定是否修订相关土地分区法规。近年来随着人工智能热潮，数据中心在全美各地加速落地，其巨大的电力与用水需求引发不少社区担忧。罗利所在的三角研究园地区是美国东南部重要的数据中心聚集区之一。支持暂停令的议员表示，城市需要在发展与民生之间取得平衡；业界则希望市政府尽快出台明确规则，避免长期不确定性影响投资。
Raleigh City Council Approves Six-Month Data Center Moratorium
The Raleigh, North Carolina City Council voted on October 6 to approve a six-month moratorium on data center construction. According to commercial real estate outlet Bisnow, the city will use the pause to study assessment standards for data centers' impact on power supply, water resources and neighborhoods before deciding whether to revise zoning rules. Driven by the AI boom, data centers have been expanding rapidly across the U.S., and their enormous power and water demands have raised community concerns. Raleigh's Research Triangle area is a major data center hub in the Southeast. Council members backing the moratorium said the city must balance growth with residents' needs; industry hopes for clear rules soon to avoid prolonged uncertainty for investment.
