The 2026 Twin Cities Marathon took place October 4 between Minneapolis and St. Paul, with Kenya's Chebii winning the women's race in course-record time. According to the Minnesota News Network on October 5, Chebii's finish shattered a women's course record that had stood for 25 years, while Shitsama won the men's title. Founded in 1982, the Twin Cities Marathon is one of the Midwest's premier running events, its course linking downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul before cheering crowds. This year's race drew more than ten thousand runners from across the U.S. and abroad, and organizers credited ideal weather for the fast times.
