Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced on October 5 that sales of the state's popular “Blackout” specialty license plate have topped 380,000, generating $12.9 million in revenue. According to AroundFortWayne, the black-background plate has been a runaway hit since its debut, becoming one of the best-selling specialty plates in Indiana history. Proceeds are earmarked for designated state public programs. Braun said the plate's popularity reflects Hoosiers' pride in their state, and more locally themed designs are on the way. Motorists can order the plate through the BMV website or branch offices.
