Idaho staged a spectacular french fry feast in Boise on October 5, serving more than 1,400 pounds of fries in a Guinness World Record attempt. According to idaho.com, multiple industrial fryers were deployed as volunteers turned the state's famous potatoes into golden, crispy fries handed out free to the crowd. Idaho is America's top potato-producing state, and organizers wanted the event to showcase its agricultural might. A Guinness adjudicator supervised the weighing and serving, with certification results pending review. Many families said it was the most “Idaho” plate of fries they'd ever had.
