Gold Tops $4,170 as Brent Crude Falls Below $100
In futures trading on October 6, New York gold topped $4,170 an ounce, up 0.31%, while Brent crude fell below $100 a barrel and WTI below $89. The dollar index broke above 102.
The U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve fell by about 767,000 barrels last week to 283 million barrels, the lowest since 1982. Yemen's government said it retook the Red Sea port city of Mocha from Houthi forces.
