New York Declares Disaster Emergency Over Measles Outbreak
On October 5, New York Governor Kathy Hochul issued an executive order declaring a disaster emergency over the measles outbreak, effective from October 5 to November 4, 2026.
As of October 3, the state had reported 108 measles cases. The declaration allows the state to mobilize additional public health resources to accelerate vaccination and contact tracing.
