查尔斯顿——西弗吉尼亚州消防局长办公室正在全州推动10月4日至10日的“防火周”活动，今年的主题是“冲向消防安全：安全充电就是超能力”，重点宣传锂离子电池的安全充电。
州消防部门指出，锂离子电池广泛应用于手机、笔记本电脑、电动自行车、滑板车等日常设备，如果受损、充电不当或使用劣质充电器，可能引发火灾甚至爆炸。部门提醒居民：使用原厂或厂家认证的充电器；在坚硬平整的表面上充电；充电时不要把设备放在枕头、沙发或床上；出现鼓包、异味或发热异常的电池应停止使用并妥善回收。
消防部门表示，防火周是全美历史最悠久的安全宣传周之一，旨在让公众掌握预防火灾的基本知识。西弗吉尼亚州各地的消防部门本周将走进学校与社区，开展防火演练与宣教活动。

West Virginia Fire Marshal Promotes Fire Prevention Week: Lithium-Ion Battery Safety in Focus
CHARLESTON — The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office is promoting Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 4-10, across the state. This year's theme, "Charge Into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower," focuses on safe charging of lithium-ion batteries.
The office notes that lithium-ion batteries power everyday devices — phones, laptops, e-bikes and scooters — and damaged batteries, improper charging or cheap chargers can cause fires or explosions. It urges residents to: use manufacturer or manufacturer-certified chargers; charge on hard, flat surfaces; keep charging devices off pillows, couches and beds; and stop using — and properly recycle — any battery that is swelling, smells unusual or runs hot.
The office said Fire Prevention Week is one of the nation's longest-running safety observances, meant to give the public basic fire-prevention know-how. Fire departments across West Virginia will visit schools and communities this week for drills and education events.
Residents can find Fire Prevention Week events through their local fire department or the State Fire Marshal's Office website.
