艾维宣布34项近5,500万美元乡村医疗拨款：第二轮资金投向全州乡村医院与远程医疗
蒙哥马利——阿拉巴马州州长凯·艾维10月1日宣布，州政府将发放34项、总额近5,500万美元的乡村医疗转型项目（ARHTP）拨款，这是2026年度第二轮资金。此次拨款将投向全州乡村医院的急诊分娩资源、远程母胎医学、癌症筛查与医护人员培养。
根据州政府公布的名单，20多家乡村医院将获得急诊分娩资源支持，其中伯明翰阿拉巴马大学（UAB）的一个全州项目获得100万美元，用于提升乡村地区的产科急救能力。拨款还将支持远程医疗网络扩展，让偏远地区的孕妇能远程获得母胎医学专家的诊疗。
艾维表示，乡村医疗是阿拉巴马州的优先事项，州政府将继续利用联邦“乡村医疗转型项目”资金，缩小城乡医疗服务差距。联邦医疗保险与医疗补助服务中心（CMS）官员也对阿拉巴马州的推进表示肯定。
阿拉巴马州乡村地区长期面临医院关闭与产科服务萎缩的问题。此轮拨款被视为州政府应对乡村医疗危机的重要举措。

Ivey Announces 34 Grants Totaling Nearly $55 Million in Second Round of Rural Health Funding
MONTGOMERY — Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced Oct. 1 that the state will award 34 grants totaling nearly $55 million under the Alabama Rural Health Transformation Program (ARHTP) — the second round of 2026 funding. The grants will support emergency labor-and-delivery resources at rural hospitals, telehealth maternal-fetal medicine, cancer screening and workforce pipelines statewide.
Under the announced list, more than 20 rural hospitals will receive emergency labor-and-delivery resources, including a $1 million statewide project by the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) to strengthen obstetric emergency capacity in rural areas. The grants will also expand telehealth networks so expectant mothers in remote areas can consult maternal-fetal medicine specialists remotely.
Ivey said rural health care is a priority for Alabama and the state will continue using federal Rural Health Transformation Program funds to close the urban-rural care gap. Officials with the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) praised Alabama's progress.
Alabama's rural areas have long faced hospital closures and shrinking obstetric services. The funding round is seen as a major state move against the rural health crisis.
