Utah Mammoth Beat Blue Jackets 4-1 as Schmaltz Hits 500 Points, Keller 600
SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Mammoth beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1 at the Delta Center on Oct. 3, with Nick Schmaltz reaching 500 career points and Clayton Keller hitting 600, The Hockey Writers reported. The twin milestones made the win extra special.
The Mammoth controlled the game with efficient offense and airtight defense. Schmaltz factored in the scoring to eclipse 500 career points, while Keller's standout night pushed him to 600 — a shot of confidence for the team's two cornerstones.
The head coach praised the all-around effort afterward, highlighting the stars' leadership in key moments. Columbus pushed back but couldn't crack the Mammoth's structure, managing only a consolation goal midway through.
The win positions Utah well in the early season. The team said it will ride this momentum forward with sights set on a deeper playoff run.
