Kentucky Stuns South Carolina 35-34 in Overtime After 17-Point Comeback
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Kentucky Wildcats pulled off a stunning comeback on Oct. 3, edging South Carolina 35-34 in overtime on the road, Greenville Online reported. Kentucky trailed by 17 points before storming back in the second half to force overtime and complete the rally.
South Carolina dominated the first half, and the home crowd sensed a comfortable win. But Kentucky adjusted after the break — the offense caught fire, the defense stiffened, and the 17-point deficit melted away. In overtime, Kentucky held its nerve to score the winner, sending the traveling fans into delirium.
South Carolina's head coach made no secret of his disappointment afterward, saying his team "stopped playing" with the lead and threw away a golden opportunity. The loss is a heavy blow to the Gamecocks' season goals.
For Kentucky, the comeback win is a massive morale boost and a showcase of resilience. The Wildcats return home next, aiming to keep the momentum rolling.
