$6.14 Million Lotto America Jackpot Ticket Sold at Des Moines QuikTrip
DES MOINES, Iowa — The Oct. 3 Lotto America drawing produced a $6.14 million jackpot, with the winning ticket sold at a QuikTrip convenience store in Des Moines, the Des Moines Register reported on Oct. 7. It is one of the largest lottery prizes awarded in Iowa in recent memory.
Lotto America is a multi-state game drawn three times a week. The jackpot had rolled over through multiple drawings before reaching $6.14 million and landing in Des Moines. The winner had not come forward as of the report. Iowa Lottery officials said winners have a year to claim prizes and advise consulting financial and legal professionals before claiming.
The QuikTrip store that sold the ticket earns a retailer bonus. Staff said news of the jackpot sent hopeful customers streaming in to buy tickets.
Iowa Lottery proceeds support veterans' programs and public causes across the state. Officials remind players to play responsibly.
