Kansas's economy has outperformed several Midwestern neighbors this year, with unemployment holding at low levels. The persistent revenue beats give the state more breathing room in budget planning.
The governor and legislative budget committees will review updated forecasts ahead of the January session's budget planning. Education funding and tax-cut proposals are expected to dominate the next session's agenda.
