丹佛加入多州联盟诉讼 挑战联邦削弱汽车燃油经济性标准
10 月 2 日，丹佛市与县宣布加入一个由多个州、县和城市组成的联盟，向联邦法院提起诉讼，挑战美国国家公路交通安全管理局（NHTSA）削弱新车燃油经济性标准的最终规则。
丹佛市政府在当天发布的新闻稿中表示，被挑战的规则降低了对新款乘用车和轻型卡车企业平均燃油经济性（CAFE）标准的要求。市政府指出，这些标准多年来通过提升车辆燃油效率降低了消费者的用车成本，同时减少了尾气污染；削弱标准将使居民在油价上花费更多，并推高空气污染水平。
这已是丹佛本周内第二次就联邦环保政策提起诉讼——就在 10 月 1 日，丹佛刚与科罗拉多州及另外二十多个州和地方政府联合起诉联邦政府撤销发电厂温室气体排放限令。市长办公室表示，丹佛将继续通过法律途径维护本地的清洁空气与消费者利益。案件后续审理将在联邦地区法院展开。

Denver Joins Lawsuit Challenging Federal Rollback of Fuel Economy Standards
The City and County of Denver announced on October 2 that it has joined a coalition of states, counties and cities in suing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration over its final rule weakening corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standards for new passenger cars and light trucks.
In its press release, the city argued that fuel economy standards have lowered consumer costs by making vehicles more efficient while cutting tailpipe pollution, and that rolling them back would raise fuel bills for residents and worsen air quality.
It was Denver's second environmental lawsuit against the federal government in as many days: on October 1 the city joined Colorado and more than two dozen other states and local governments in challenging the repeal of greenhouse gas limits for power plants. The cases will proceed in federal court.
