Measure BB Divides Inglewood as County Democratic Party Endorses a No Vote
The Los Angeles County Democratic Party has voted to endorse a No vote on Measure BB, which appears on Inglewood's November 3 ballot. The measure, placed on the ballot by a committee sponsored by sports and entertainment venues, would end the city's authority to earn revenue from advertising on public property, currently about $8 million a year funding public safety, parks, senior programs and street repairs. Opponents say the billboards would not come down and only the city's revenue would disappear, calling the measure a billionaires' bailout. Inglewood voters will decide the outcome.
