法官驳回司法部索要佐治亚选民未删减数据的诉讼
【亚特兰大讯】10月1日，联邦法官驳回了美国司法部要求佐治亚州提供未删减选民登记数据的诉讼。据 WUGA 报道，法官认定司法部的请求缺乏充分法律依据，州政府有权对选民个人信息进行删减保护。
司法部此前以调查选举管理为由，要求获取包含选民完整出生日期、社会安全号码片段等敏感信息的原始数据。佐治亚州务卿办公室拒绝提供未删减版本，引发诉讼。

Judge Dismisses DOJ Lawsuit Seeking Unredacted Georgia Voter Data
[ATLANTA] A federal judge on October 1 dismissed the U.S. Department of Justice's lawsuit seeking unredacted Georgia voter-registration data, WUGA reported. The judge found the DOJ's request lacked sufficient legal basis and that the state may redact voters' personal information.
The DOJ had sought raw data including voters' full birth dates and partial Social Security numbers, citing an election-administration inquiry. The Georgia secretary of state's office refused to provide the unredacted version, prompting the suit.
The secretary of state's office welcomed the ruling, calling voter-privacy protection a statutory duty. The DOJ has not said whether it will appeal.
