HBO's Legal Drama 'War' Premieres Oct. 1 With Sienna Miller and Dominic West
HBO's new legal drama 'War' premiered on Thursday, Oct. 1, on HBO and HBO Max, with new episodes released on Thursdays, according to TheWrap and ScreenRant's fall TV calendars. Created by George Kay of 'Lupin' and 'Hijack,' the series stars Dominic West and Sienna Miller and follows two top London law firms facing off over a divorce case that sends shockwaves through the legal world — between a tech entrepreneur and his movie-star wife.
HBO's confidence in the show was evident early: a second season was already in the works, to be led by Marisa Tomei and Kelly Macdonald. TheWrap included 'War' on its list of the fall's most anticipated series, and its launch landed the same day as Netflix's 'East of Eden,' making Oct. 1 the opening skirmish of the autumn streaming wars.
The anthology structure is the show's calling card: each season centers on a new high-net-worth case, with the power games between the rival firms as the continuing thread.
Across the streaming battlefield the same day, Netflix dropped its literary adaptation 'East of Eden' in full — two platforms launching their autumn flagships head-to-head, a measure of the 2026 fall season's intensity. Viewing and reception data for 'War' was expected from ratings trackers over the following week.
