[DOVER] Delaware Gov. Matt Meyer announced October 1 he is vetoing four bills passed by the state legislature, issuing a statement explaining his reasoning, delawareonline reported. The vetoed bills span different policy areas; the governor said some provisions raised implementation concerns or conflicted with existing law.
Meyer said the veto decisions followed careful review with legal counsel and relevant agencies, and that he remains willing to work with lawmakers on alternatives. The legislature may consider overriding the vetoes when it reconvenes, though that requires a statutory supermajority.
Legislative leaders expressed disappointment over some of the vetoes and said they will revisit the bills' contents; other lawmakers agreed with the governor's technical objections.
