La Cañada Flintridge to Accept Applications for City Council Vacancy Starting Sept. 14
The City of La Cañada Flintridge announced on September 2 that it will begin accepting applications on September 14 for a vacancy on the City Council. The vacancy follows the resignation of Councilmember Keith Eich, which takes effect on October 5; a reason for the resignation has not been publicly disclosed. Under the city's municipal code, the council must fill the vacancy within 30 days, either through an appointment or by calling a special election. The council has decided to accept applications from qualified residents for an appointment, with a deadline of 5 p.m. on October 2. The appointee will serve the remainder of Eich's term, which expires in March 2028. Applicants must be residents of the city and registered voters.
