华盛顿市拨880万美元护送学生上下学 Safe Passage大使守重点路线
华盛顿特区市长 Muriel Bowser 10月9日宣布，市府将投入880万美元支持 Safe Passage 安全护送计划，帮助学生在上下学路上更安全地往返学校与地铁站。该计划由公共安全与司法副市长办公室统筹，社区组织将在重点区域部署安全护送大使。
这些大使会驻守学生常用路线和交通站点，与学校、特区机构及社区合作，及时发现、介入和报告冲突风险，并通过正面接触学生、家庭、商家和居民来鼓励准时到校。市府表示，让学生先感到通勤安全，是提升出席率和学习状态的重要一环。（资料来源：华盛顿特区市长办公室）
Washington Awards $8.8M for Safe Passage Program to Protect Student Commutes
Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser announced on October 9 an $8.8 million investment in the Safe Passage program to help students travel safely to and from school. Coordinated through the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice, the program deploys community-based Safe Passage teams in priority areas.
Ambassadors monitor student commute routes and transit stops, work with schools, District agencies and neighbors to identify and de-escalate risks, and engage students, families, businesses and civic groups to support daily, on-time attendance.
