华盛顿地铁拟涨价约一成 青少年免费乘车也在方案中
华盛顿都会区交通局（WMATA）近日提出票价调整方案：地铁票价拟由现行 2.25 至 6.75 美元上调至 2.50 至 7.50 美元，巴士票价由 2.25 美元涨至 2.50 美元，整体涨幅约 11.1%，预计每年可增加 4000 万至 4500 万美元收入。方案同时提出，让特区、马里兰州和弗吉尼亚州 5 至 18 岁青少年免费乘坐地铁和巴士。
董事会将于 10 月 8 日讨论该方案，今年冬季举行公众听证，如获批准，新票价预计 2027 年 7 月生效。经常往返市中心与郊区的华人通勤家庭，可提前留意听证安排。
Metro Proposes About 11% Fare Hike, Free Rides for Youth Included
The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has proposed raising Metrorail fares from the current $2.25–$6.75 range to $2.50–$7.50, with Metrobus fares rising from $2.25 to $2.50 — an overall increase of about 11.1% expected to generate $40 million to $45 million in additional revenue. The plan also proposes free Metro rail and bus rides for all children ages 5 through 18 living in D.C., Maryland, or Virginia. Metro's board will discuss the proposal on October 8, with public hearings planned this winter. If approved, the new fares would take effect in July 2027, so regular commuters should watch for hearing dates.
