$55 Million in Improvements Completed at San Diego's Mira Mesa Community Park
San Diego has completed the $55 million second phase of improvements at Mira Mesa Community Park. The 17-acre project, south of New Salem Street, began in September 2024 and finished on schedule and on budget.
New amenities include an aquatic complex with a 14-lane competition pool, an activity pool, and a splash pad, plus an all-wheel plaza, a renovated Gil Johnson Recreation Center, play areas, and sports courts. The work was funded almost entirely by Mira Mesa developer fees, and a third phase is planned.
