据美国媒体10月14日报道，纽约市长马姆达尼与市议会议长朱莉·梅宁已就一项禁止中央公园马拉马车的法案达成一致，市议会定于10月22日表决。该法案被称作“罗曼奇法”，已有51名议员中的29人联署支持；若获通过，禁令将于2028年6月1日生效。法案源于今年6月一名18岁游客罗曼奇·马哈詹在中央公园因马匹受惊狂奔而身亡的事故。法案同时限制将退役马匹送往屠宰场。
New York City Council to Vote on Central Park Horse-Carriage Ban Backed by 29 Members
US media reported on October 14 that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Council Speaker Julie Menin have agreed on a bill to ban horse-drawn carriages in Central Park, with a Council vote scheduled for October 22. The bill, known as 'Romanchi's Law', is co-sponsored by 29 of the Council's 51 members and would take effect on June 1, 2028. It follows the death in June of 18-year-old visitor Romanchi Mahajan after a horse bolted in the park. The bill also restricts sending retired horses to slaughter.
