据新奥尔良市议会公布，市议会一致通过第R-26-421号决议，提供2360万美元激励资金，在全市布设电池储能：覆盖约800户住宅与200多家商户，其中40%的前期资金预留给低收入与中等收入家庭。该计划与此前通过的社区太阳能激励配套，把家庭电池等分布式资源联网组成“社区电力计划”微电网网络，在风暴、热浪或电网紧张导致停电时提供后备电力。决议由市议员艾米·麦卡伦提出，她是议会气候变化与可持续发展委员会主席。
New Orleans Council Unanimously Approves $23.6 Million for Neighborhood Power Plan
The New Orleans City Council announced that it unanimously approved Resolution R-26-421, a $23.6 million incentive package to deploy battery storage across the city, covering roughly 800 homes and more than 200 businesses, with 40 percent of upfront funds reserved for low- and moderate-income households. Paired with previously approved community solar incentives, the programme links home batteries and other distributed resources into the 'Neighborhood Power Plan' microgrid network, providing backup power during outage-causing storms, heat waves and grid strain. The resolution was authored by Councilmember Aimee McCarron, chair of the Climate Change and Sustainability Committee.
