New Orleans Launches Online Property Tax Impact Calculator Ahead of Nov. 5 Millage Hearing
In an Oct. 1 release, the City of New Orleans announced a new online property tax impact calculator, hosted at NOLA.gov, to help residents understand how a potential 2027 property tax roll forward could affect their bills; related millage information is published at NOLA.gov/millages as the City Council considers the move following reassessment. The city also gave notice of a public hearing on Nov. 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the City Council Chamber at 1300 Perdido St, where the council will consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval, or adopting the adjusted rates after reassessment. The city estimates tax revenues of about $297.34 million in the next tax year under the increased millage, compared with about $255.08 million in the current year — an increase of roughly $42.25 million.
