新奥尔良市议会10月2日总结首周2027年度拟议预算听证：9月29日的首场会议听取地税条例、财政部、行政长官办公室与公务员部门简报，9月30日则由法医办公室以及警察、消防等公共安全部门轮番报告。
听证显示，警局提出约1.67亿美元的普通基金预算需求，消防局约为1.27亿美元，紧急管理与青少年司法等单位也分别说明人员与营运压力。议会后续数周将继续审议各部门预算，预计在年底前通过最终版本。
City Council opens 2027 budget hearings with finance and public safety briefings
The New Orleans City Council recapped its first week of 2027 budget hearings on Oct. 2, noting that the Sept. 29 session covered a tax levy ordinance and briefings from Finance, the Chief Administrative Office, and Civil Service, while Sept. 30 brought presentations from the coroner's office and public safety agencies including police and fire.
Among the figures presented, the police department sought roughly $167 million in general fund support and the fire department about $127 million, with emergency management and juvenile justice officials also outlining staffing and operating pressures. Hearings continue in the coming weeks ahead of final adoption later this year.
