Murrieta Joins MilVet's 'Battle of the Cities' to Collect Care-Package Donations for Deployed Troops
The City of Murrieta is competing with neighboring cities including Temecula, Menifee, Norco and Calimesa in nonprofit MilVet's 'Battle of the Cities,' a friendly contest to collect the most care-package donations for deployed service members. Item collection runs October 17 through November 1 — requested items include beef jerky, protein bars, hygiene products and letters of encouragement — and a large community packing event is set for November 14 at Temecula Valley High School. MilVet is headquartered in Murrieta, where its Veteran Pantry opens Tuesday afternoons. (Source: City of Murrieta, murrietaca.gov; MilVet)
