Murrieta Opens Federal Community Development Grant Applications, Due Nov. 9
A useful notice for nonprofits and community groups in Riverside County: the City of Murrieta has announced that the application cycle for Riverside County's 2027–28 "Urban County" Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is now open, with the program year starting July 1, 2027.
Applications are submitted through the City of Murrieta at 1 Town Square, and the deadline is 4:30 p.m. on November 9, 2026. The city council is scheduled to review the applications on December 1 at 4 p.m.
The city's stated priorities are specific: community food banks, women's programs, domestic violence programs, and children and youth development. Murrieta sits in GSM's home base of Riverside County — local Chinese-American associations, churches and nonprofits running or planning service projects in these areas should take a close look before the deadline.
