Broward County Commission Unanimously Authorises Legal Action Over Access to Sheriff's Facilities
Florida media reported on October 14 that the Broward County Commission, in the Miami metropolitan area, voted unanimously on October 13 to authorise the county attorney to take legal action, including lawsuits if necessary, to gain access to inspect county-owned and county-leased facilities used by the Broward Sheriff's Office, including research and training centres. Commissioners said repeated county requests for coordination had gone unanswered. The county mayor said taxpayers deserve to know how every dollar is being spent. The dispute concerns facility oversight between the commission and the sheriff's office.
