拉斯维加斯市政府宣布，第35届残障意识日（Disability Awareness Day）活动将于10月10日（周六）上午10时至下午2时，在洛伦兹公园（Lorenzi Park）内的Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza举行，地址为720 Twin Lakes Drive，免费入场。本届活动由南内华达独立生活中心（SNCIL）与拉斯维加斯市政府及多家本地残障服务机构合办，时值全美残障就业意识月。现场将有30多家服务机构设摊，内容涵盖就业辅导、独立生活、财务规划与预算、法律服务、社会安全福利咨询，并提供适应性器材、辅助科技、交通、住房、医疗与照护支持等信息，另设适应性康乐、青少年过渡规划、养老与辅助生活、盲聋服务等专区。活动期间将有民选官员到场，全程配手语翻译；另有现场表演与抽奖，前250位到场者可领取免费午餐，并设万圣节造型评奖。主办方提醒现场停车位有限，建议提早抵达；详情可致电702-889-4216或浏览sncil.org。（来源：拉斯维加斯市政府新闻室）
Las Vegas to Host 35th Annual Disability Awareness Day Oct. 10 at Lorenzi Park
The city of Las Vegas will host the 35th annual Disability Awareness Day on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sammy Davis Jr. Festival Plaza in Lorenzi Park, 720 Twin Lakes Drive. Admission is free. The event is organized by the Southern Nevada Center for Independent Living together with the city of Las Vegas and local disability organizations, and falls during National Disability Employment Awareness Month. More than 30 organizations are expected to host booths covering employment options, independent living, financial planning and budgeting, legal services, and Social Security benefits counseling, along with adaptive equipment, assistive technology, transportation, housing, health care and caregiver support. Visitors can also find adaptive recreation, youth transition planning, aging and assisted living services, and resources for people who are blind or deaf. Attendees may meet elected officials, and American Sign Language interpreters will be available throughout the day. The program includes live entertainment and door prizes; the first 250 guests receive a free lunch, and prizes will be awarded for the best Halloween costumes. Parking is limited.
