78 Rent-Restricted Homes Open at The Hive on Russell Near Detroit's Eastern Market
Detroit housing organisations announced that The Hive on Russell, a new apartment development by Develop Detroit near Eastern Market, has opened. The $23.9 million project, built on a previously vacant site at 2033 Russell Street, contains 78 apartments within walking distance of Eastern Market and the Dequindre Cut. Every apartment is rent-restricted under the federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit programme, serving households earning between 30 and 60 percent of area median income. The project is backed by public and private financing, with participation from partners including the Kresge Foundation, and includes a fitness room, business centre, community lounge and a terrace overlooking downtown Detroit.
