夏洛特拟延长数据中心暂停令，10月12日举行公听会
夏洛特市议会定于10月12日举行公众听证会，讨论是否把全市新建数据中心的暂停令延长至2027年10月11日。现行150天暂停令由市议会6月通过，将于11月5日到期，若延长将再暂停约11个月。此前，数据中心在八个分区内可直接建设、无需市府审批，议员担忧其对环境、电价、税负与居民生活品质的影响。市府8月已设立19人工作组研究对策，但表示仍需时间咨询专家，并与杜克能源等市外机构协商最佳做法，未来也可能按数据中心的规模与类型制定不同标准。居民可通过市府网站登记在听证会上发言。
Charlotte May Extend Data Center Pause to 2027; Hearing Set for Oct. 12
Charlotte City Council will hold a public hearing on Oct. 12 on extending the citywide pause on new data center construction through Oct. 11, 2027. The current 150-day moratorium, adopted in June, expires Nov. 5, so an extension would add about 11 months. Data centers are currently allowed by right in eight zoning districts without city approval, and councilmembers have raised concerns about environmental impacts, utility rates and quality of life. A 19-member task force formed in August is studying the issue, but staff say they need more time to consult experts and outside utilities before proposing new rules. Residents may sign up online to speak.
